Leadership Structure

At Mary E. Britton Middle School, leadership is organized around a collaborative, systems-based model designed to maximize support for students, staff, and families. Rather than dividing responsibilities solely by grade level or academic department, our leadership team is organized around four interconnected leadership pillars that provide clear ownership of the school's instructional, operational, and student support systems.

• Teaching, Learning & Assessment: This pillar is responsible for advancing instructional excellence across the school. Responsibilities include curriculum implementation, instructional coaching, assessment and data analysis, professional learning, instructional leadership, and supporting teachers through continuous growth and development.
• Culture & Student Services: This pillar focuses on creating a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment for every student. Responsibilities include school culture, student behavior systems, attendance, counseling services, restorative practices, grade-level support, family engagement, and programs that foster belonging and student success.
• MTSS & Intervention Services: This pillar develops and manages the school's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). Through data-driven decision making, intervention planning, progress monitoring, collaborative problem-solving, and targeted academic and behavioral supports, the team ensures every student receives the assistance needed to reach their full potential.
• Student Success & Operations: This pillar oversees the operational systems that support teaching and learning each day. Responsibilities include school finances, front office operations, student registration, community partnerships, facilities, safety, technology, transportation, and other essential support services that allow the school to operate efficiently.

Mary E. Britton Middle School believes leadership extends beyond the administrative team. Instructional Leads, Team Leads, the MTSS Coordinator, Dean of Students, School Operations Coordinator, counselors, coaches, sponsors, and support staff all serve as leaders within their respective systems. Together, they work collaboratively to fulfill the school's mission of fostering a safe and supportive environment where every student is valued and inspired to reach their fullest potential.
