Britton Bears Capture Gold at the KBC Holiday Classic

Mary E. Britton Middle School is proud to celebrate an outstanding achievement by our 6th grade boys’ basketball team, who were crowned Gold Bracket Champions at the KBC Holiday Classic. The Britton Bears showcased determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament, representing our school with pride.

The Bears opened tournament play with a strong 43–21 victory over West Jessamine, setting the tone with disciplined defense and unselfish offense. They followed that performance with an impressive 31–9 win against Tates Creek, demonstrating depth, focus, and consistency on both ends of the floor.

In the Gold Bracket championship game, the Bears faced West Jessamine for a second time. In a competitive matchup, our 6th graders rose to the occasion, securing a 36–27 victory to claim the tournament title. Their ability to adjust, stay composed, and work together in a high-pressure setting was a testament to their growth and preparation.

We are incredibly proud of our student-athletes and their coaches for this accomplishment. This championship reflects the hard work, commitment, and teamwork that define the Britton Bears. Congratulations to our 6th grade team on an exciting tournament run and a well-earned championship!
