Britton Bears Cross Country Off to a Strong Start

The Mary E. Britton Middle School Cross Country team is off to an outstanding start to the 2025 season, showcasing talent, determination, and teamwork at their opening meets.

Bluegrass State Games – August 2

At the Bluegrass State Games, our boys and girls teams each earned 2nd place overall, setting the tone for a competitive season ahead.

• Race Champions:

  • Girls 3K: Maggie Henderson

  • Boys 3K: Asa Park

• Top 10 Medalists:

  • Carter Howard

  • Noah Rohan

  • Samuel Alvarez

  • Larkin McConnell

  • Lola Gonzalez

This strong team performance demonstrated both individual excellence and depth across the roster.

Fleet Feet Relays – Louisville, KY

Today, the Bears traveled to Louisville for the Fleet Feet Relays, a unique and exciting meet that pairs two runners as teammates in a 3x800m relay format. Each runner alternated three legs before combining times for the team’s final result.

With 68 girls’ teams and 80 boys’ teams competing, the Britton Bears rose to the challenge:

• Top Girls Team (6th Overall): Maggie Henderson & Larkin McConnell

• Top Boys Team (7th Overall): Carter Howard & Asa Park

• Top 20 Finish (17th Overall): Donavon Kwan & Noah Rohan

The top 10 finishing teams in each division earned Asics Race Singlets, with the Bears proudly bringing home their share of awards.

Looking Ahead

The start of the season has shown that the Britton Bears are ready to compete at a high level, both individually and as a team. With early success at the Bluegrass State Games and Fleet Feet Relays, the future looks bright for our cross country program.
