eSports

Level up your skills, compete with students across Fayette County, and be part of one of the fastest-growing activities in education! The Mary E. Britton Middle School eSports Club gives students the opportunity to develop teamwork, communication, strategic thinking, and sportsmanship while competing in organized video game leagues and regional tournaments.

Students can compete in a variety of games, including Super Smash Bros.™, Mario Kart™, Rocket League®, Minecraft®, and Just Dance®. In addition to competitive gaming, students interested in media and broadcasting can participate as Shout Casters, serving as live commentators and broadcasters for competitions.

The season runs from mid-October through the end of April, with team enrollment and formation beginning in October. Online league play starts in November and culminates with regional competitions throughout the school year before wrapping up in April. Britton students will compete against middle schools from across Fayette County, including Beaumont, Crawford, Jessie Clark, Leestown, Lexington Traditional, Tates Creek, and Winburn.

The club meets twice each week:

• Wednesday: Competitive Mario Kart
• Thursday: Competitive Super Smash Bros.

Approximately 20 students participate each season.

The eSports Club is supported through the Fayette County Public Schools ePIC eSports initiative, which provides equipment and opportunities for students to compete in a fun, inclusive, and engaging environment.
